Green Juice From The Yoga Girl® Kitchen
Drinking a green juice in the morning is one of our favorite ways to get nutrients deep into the cellular level first thing.
Green juice is super easy for your body to digest, and in the morning on an empty stomach it’s a great way to deeply nourish your body.
Green juice is a great way to power up for the day! It’s light enough that you can drink it and still do an active yoga class or your favorite workout. Your body will draw energy and power from the nutrients in the juice! It’s also a great way to replenish after a practice or activity as well.
The ingredients in this juice are designed to give you strength and power (kale and spinach), hydrate the body (cucumber), support digestion (apple and ginger) and boost immunity (orange and lemon). It's the perfect all around go to green juice recipe!
The Ingredients:
- 1 cucumber
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 cups kale
- 2 apples, cored
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger root
The Process:
Chop and peel the veg and add all the ingredients to a masticating juicer one at a time. Begin with the cucumber and use the apples after the green leafy vegetables to make sure no greens are left in the juicer.
Note - A centrifugal juicer works great for juicing fruits, but if you can, invest in a masticating juicer instead. The masticating juicer doesn’t make as much noise and its much more effective for juicing greens like spinach and kale. Also, centrifugal juicers heat your produce slightly in the process, which lowers the nutritional value of your juice.
